On September 25, 26 and 27, 2024, the Palace of Versailles is organizing the International Meetings on Versailles and equestrian culture, from the past to the present.

Over the course of three days, historians, art historians, archivists, European riding schools, philosophers, artists and craftsmen of excellence will take a multidisciplinary approach to exploring the role of the horse and equestrian civilization from the 16th century to the present day.

This half-day event will evoke the architectural history and current uses of the stables still present in European royal residences.

This half-day event will evoke the know-how that has been passed down from past to the present, and which will be showcased through the excellence of equestrian craftsmen. At the end of the day, a round table of “equestrians ”, philosophers, essayists and artists will open the debate on these days with their “crossed views”.
